Week 3: General Conference!!

Hola!
Its crazy to say that I have been in the CCM for three weeks now. It feels like yesterday that I said goodbye to my family at the airport but not only because of the amount of spanish that I have learned but also becuase of how fast the days go by. I have gotten a lot of questions about what I do in a normal day so I will tell you.
6:30- Wake up.... This is the hardest thing I have to do in the day. Its not my favorite
7:00- Personal Study
7:30- Breakfast
8:00- Personal Study
8:30- Language Study... The most important time of the day. This is when my district talk for the majority of the time but also when I get the most done. Its a lot of grammer.
9:30- We teach investigators... our teachers dress as investigators and we have to treat them like investigators and its crazy at how much you love fake investigators. I can now teach a whole lesson in Spanish with no notes and be able to read and state things from preach my gospel so I think the CCM is a good thing for me.
11:00- More grammer
12:00- Lunch... We get ice cream so everyone is ready for lunch on time!
1:00- Preach my gospel doctrine classes
3:00- Sports... I know I wasn't into working out at home but here I love it. I get to play volleyball everyday and I run a lot here too. The heat is really terrible becuase we are outside the whole time but everyone sweats so no one really cares. Its nice that no one cares becuase then I don't mind working out that much. Its the best time of the day.
5:00- dinner.. the food at that time is not the best.. don't tell the cooks that because I just smile and say gracias!
6:00- teaching more investigators... my favorite time of teaching because I get to just relax when Im not teaching.
8:00- memorize time... I am not a fan of this time because of how much a missionary has to memorize. Its not very fun to sit and memorize the first vision but you know, it works out
9:00- prepare for manana... my district and I get in trouble a lot of the time for talking too much during this time but you know how much I love talking. :)
9:30- Hermanas devotional.. all the hermanas get together and we sing a song and have a spiritual thought. I have yet to given a thought but I have said the prayer before and how different it is to pray in spanish but I am getting use to it.
10:30- lights have to be out or else tired Emma comes in and turns the lights off. I am normally in bed ready to sleep by 10 but thats becuase I don't wear make up so I never have to take all that time to get ready. Its really nice.

Well thats the CCM life here. Its the same everyday so theres nothing really to look forward to besides P-day and we get to have 5 hours of free time with the temple in the morning. Grace, I have seen 2 of the new movies in the temple so thank you Guatemala for helping me out with that. Gracias!

Conference was great and I loved every second of it. Did anyone else notice how much it was about families this time. All the Elders were like, "Are they trying to make me leave the mission to go home and get married to my girl?" luckily I don't have a girl to go home to but I applied all of the conference talks to the families that I will one day be teaching. Its crazy how close it is coming up and how I will be speaking not only Spanish but Ketchi (I think thats how you spell it). Its weird but I am really excited. My favorites from conference are...
Saturday:
Henery B. Erying about the law of fasting... This really helped me out because how the blessing will come from if you pay and honest and full tithing.
Linda K. Burton about the fatherhood and motherhood. That was really good because I like the quote that says, "Don't compete- Complete"
L. Tom Perry about eternal families. Thats my goal out here in the mission is to not only get my investigators baptized but to also take them to the temple one day to be sealed for all time and all eternity.
David A. Bednar because he is my man and I love him
Wilford W. Andersen about hearing and loving the music becuase who wouldnt want to listen and love music in the mission. I miss it a lot and I have been playing the piano more that I normally would have. Its nice to play and to sing a song in my head.
Sunday:
Thomas S. Monson becuase 144 temples is pretty amazing
Bishop Geald Causse. One line. "We look but we don't really see, we hear but don't really listen, and we act without really knowing."
Brent H. Nielson about the 1 lost sheep. Keep that in mind becuase I can't wait for a certain day. :)
Dieter F. Uchtdorf becuase "God loves us perfectly and ever lasting"

Conference over all was the best ever and I am so glad that I was able to watch all of it. I love being in the CCM and to be blessed with such an amazing mission. Its crazy at how fast it came and how fast its going but I am so excited to be here in Guatemala and to be able to leave for Coban in just 3 short weeks. I think I will be ready but I will have to learn a lot more spanish and be able to comunicate with the natives here first. I love this gospel and I love my Savior Jesus Christ.

My whole zone for the first two weeks is in the second picture. I love them and I already miss them becuase all the natives are out in the field already. Im in the first row 4th from the right!

My district. I love them so much. My companion is in the red skirt with her eyes close. Yes the sun is way too bright and we can't have our cameras at all so I can't make up for how bad the pictures are. I love my district so much!!

Week 2

Written from the CMM on March 31, 2015

Hey so email here is really weird so sorry already.
Well this week was CRAZY!
Ill start off with Wednesday- I felt the spirit a lot and I was really having a hard time with the language but I had to keep going becuase I needed to teach a lesson that night. Also My companion and I were having a really hard day with getting along so we prayed as a compaionship and it really helped. The power that prayer can have is so amazing.
Thursday- I missed home more than ever. Its really weird being so far away but then at the same time being so close to all of ya'll at the same time. Its crazy at how the spirit can bring comfort. It was amazing. I also taught a lesson all in spanish and it went pretty great.
Friday- was my freak out day. I had to plan 2 lessons in 30 minutes ALL IN SPANISH. It was the hardes thing that has ever happened becuase my companion just kept getting side tracked which was good becuase it lightened the mood a little which was needed.
Saturday- Nothing really happened besides I needed a nice male hug which can't happen so family come down to Guatemala just so I can get a hug. That would be nice.
Sunday- Was pretty great. It was fast sunday and they fast for more than 24 hours here on fast sunday so that was really hard to go that long without eating but it was totally worht it. I got up and I shared my testimony all in spanish and people actually understood what I was saying. It felt nice to know that all of my hard work is paying off.
Monday- was the best day ever! My companion and I didn't fight at all and I felt the spirit the whole day. My companion and I spent the whole day planning a lesson on the Word of Wisdom but when we got into the lesson the investigator wanted to talk about tithing and so we gave a lesson all in spanish about tithing and I didn't know any words on tithing but I did in that lesson. Also it was a huge testimony builder to me.
Last night I HAD A DREAM IN SPANISH. I didn't know that I did but my companions were awake talking, and I really value the sleep that I can get, so in the middle of the night I started speaking spanish in my sleep. El Libro de Mormon es veradera. La iglesia es muy importante. It was really funny when they told me the story today. I guess I know more then I let on.
I am so blessed to having challenges in my life because they make me a stronger person and an even stronger missionary. Its really hard sharing personal experineces in spanish but somehow when I know that I need to share a story about me or my family, it just comes out so nicely and my investigators really love it.
The new people come in tomorrow and my whole district is planning a joke because they all come in on April fools day so let the games begin. We were planning on having them think that they have to hit their beds every time they want to get on it so the spiders can get out of it or telling them that every lunch the meat is actually a type of bug and that if you don't eat all of it the first week that you have to have it for the rest of your meals. Im still planning something big for them.
Its crazy that I have been here for 2 weeks. It feels like 5 months but at the same time it feels like I haven't even left home. I have pictures for you but don't dwell on my becuase that was not the best day for me haha. ((The pictures did not send. Pictures to follow in another email c: ))
How the Lord blesses all of us in so many different ways.
Yo se que la iglesia es veradera. Yo se que Jesuscristo es Salvador y el Redator. Yo se que mi mission es muy importante para mi. Amoraza usted y oraciona todas dias. En el nombre de Jesuscristo, Amen.
I know the church is true. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer. I know that my mission is very important for me. I love you all and pray for you alwasy. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
I love you all. Have a good week my loves!

First Week Done!

Written from the CMM (Guatemalan MTC) on March 24, 2015

Okay so this keyboard is really weird and I don't have time to fix spelling mistakes so just roll with it.
The first week in the CCM is done. And what a crazy week it has been. I landed at 5 in the morning on Wednesday and they put us straight to work. We didn't get to sleep but we did get to go to bed at 8 so that was nice. The first day they gave us 10 books and so many lectures that it was hard to keep straight but I have it down now so it is nice.
The president here is so nice. His name is Presidente Cox and he cares about everyone. He knows my name and in devotionals he will ask me to share what I think which is a good thing and a bad thing so the CCM is pretty interesting here.
My companion is Hermana Aillery and she is from New York. She is a fire cracker and that is nice becuase sometimes its hard to be energetic when you are up at 6 in the morning and not going to bed until 11. My district is way cool. I love them so much. There are 4 Elders and 5 Hermanas including me. We all have a party and it helps time to go by faster.
Coming here was really hard but once I landed in LA it was pretty easy to be a missionary almost. I didn't cry much so that helped me to have a happy spirit about things. I went up to everyone and introduced myself but I kinda forgot that I'm a missionary so I just said, "Hi, my name is Emma... Uhmmm I mean Hermana Fuller." People laughed and it helped us break the ice a little bit.
The CCM is very different from home. There is a schedule and you have to follow it but not only follow it but be there 5 minutes early which isn't hard for me but its hard for my companion. So we are almost late to everything but I am getting her ready and in class on time. The food is pretty good but there are a lot of onions and a lot of spice which I don't mind the spice but I hate onions. Mom you will be proud of me when I say that I have eaten everything that I have gotten for a meal and I did not complain. There was once a bug on my plate and guess what, I ate it. Also there are always bugs in our rooms and all the Hermanas freak out so they yell HERMANA FULLER WE NEED YOU and I am on my way with a napkin ready for the kill. So Im growing up a little bit while I am here.
I am growing so much spiriatually and its crazy to think that I have only been here for a week. It feels like 5 months but you know the saying, "The days feel like weeks but the week feels like days" which is totally true. Time is slow in classrooms but sports fly by. I really enjoy sport time here because they have volleyball here and most of the Elders want me on their team so I am making a lot of friends here as well.
I went to the temple today and it is 58 steps away from the CMM and I have a perfect view from the classroom and I just look at it the whole time. Its very pretty and I love the spirit that I feel when I go in it. Its great.
Spanish is coming along pretty great. Its hard to only speak spanish all day when I only know how to introduce myself, pray, and how to bear my testimony but that is going to be very usefull when I get out into the feild. My teachers are great and they both speak great english so I can ask them how to say things and they understand perfectly. I am already teaching an investigator and its really hard but with the spirit he allows me to have the gift of tounges and I can understand everything that she is saying and I can answer most of her questions. Its very nice to know that Heavenly Father is looking out for me with the language.
Well time is almost up but here is the CCM address in case any of you want to send me a letter and I would love that so please do. Just send it normally and don't put any stickers on it becuase then it will get stolen. Just in a normal package or a normal envelope.
